You can stay on the mountain and make it your home ~ Vera Nazarian~
Mountain cabins are a home in the mountains. For the landlord and his family off course, but definitely for us hikers too. A mountain cabin is a hiking goal, a place to rest and enjoy the scenery, a place to sleep and sometimes a place of refuge. Like I said: a home in the mountains.
During this week we hike from or to different cabins in the mountains around Mittersill. Upon request we can stay overnight in one of the cabins or turn the week into a cabin tour.
Usually these cabins are found at greater hights and lonely places way back in the valleys of the National Park Hohe Tauern. Unique places where nature has hardly been touched by humans. To fully enjoy it, we will use transfer services to get to the starting point of our hikes. This way, we avoid having to hike for hours along an “alm road” to the valley’s end, before we get to the actual hike.
Once at the cabin, we off course don’t just pass it by. We stop for a break and – depending on time and weather forecast – for a nice lunch.
All hikes are intermediate (click here for clarification) and last ca. 5 – 8 hours per day – experience in mountain hiking gives you an advantage!
