In every walk with Nature one receives far more than he seeks ~ John Muir ~
This day hike over Lach-Hochalm is for the hiker in shape with an adventurous streak. It takes us along less travelled trails. Because they are less travelled, they are sometimes partially overgrown. The hike is also al long one (about 7 hours, breaks not included).
It is however worth it! Slowly we climb up through the forest, from which we sometimes catch glimpses of the valley below or the mountains on the other side of it. We climb further up to get over the tree line and hike on towards Lach-Hochalm. Beautiful views frequently will make you pause and enjoy your surroundings.
This hike along alpine farms and across alpine meadows is an insider tip. It is locally known, but has not really been picked up by one of the many tour guide books. Away from the well travelled trails, wonderful hiking treasures can be found and this is one of them.
